Heat loss surveyor insurance

Recently completed the Level 3 heat loss course. Now looking for companies in my local area (NW) who may be in need of freelance surveyors. Wondering if there is a particular category of insurance needed to carry out the work or who peoples preferred insurer are?

Thanks

Sorry for late reply to this Patrick,

If you are an existing DEA then your standard insurance policy (usually Public Liability) will also cover you for the heat loss surveys as there is no additional 'risk' involved in terms of the survey/data gathering exercise itself. However, you may want ot consider taking out Professional Indemnity insurance (PI) as well. Whilst not cheap, it does give you peace of mind should there ever be any comeback on survey work you have provided.

I use Hiscox Insurance for all of this, they've proved very easy to deal with and are priced as well as any other provider that I've found.
