Hi Team. I am just to copete my ccourse, I am a little stuck. I have a ground floor mainsonette. the ceilling is a party ceilling. I cant find party ceilling in the drop down menu. so I chose internal celling, and in the notes I have indicated its party ceiling, now it asks for a temperature. From the training slide show it says any party ceilling has no thrmal loss so what do i put in as temperature >? blank or 10 deg C?

Hi, Yes, put in the ceiling at 10c for a party ceiling, that's fine.

Hi Clive I did that but my assessor rejected it. Also I am unable to select party ceilling from the drop down menu.

Do i need to ceate a custom ceilling, and calculate u value for the compisition of 12 mm timber, 70mm air gap, and 9mm ceilling plaster.
Where can I find the R vaues or the lambda values?

Attiq, there isn't an actual Party Ceiling option, but you can do the same using the following:

Select 'Ceiling Internal' as your element type.
Select 'ic: Timber without insulation (1.73)' for the element description - given what you have said about it's construction
Select '10' for the relevant temperature (Temp)

This will give you the same parameters as it if was a party ceiling, so a separate building above.

If the assessor still doesn't accept it, refer him to this post on the forum. You don't need to create a separate custom element.
